Level Up Your Guard Passing Game AND Help Me Raise £10K For Charity!
Whether you’ve been training for two months, two years, or a lifetime, passing a skilled opponents guard is challenging.
A good guard player will have layer upon layer of frames ready to stifle your pass attempts.
However, there is a way you can cut through those frames and avoid all their defences. It’s called the Long Step. And it’s one of the best weapons you can add to your guard passing arsenal.
Think of the Long Step like a can opener. It cracks the lid so you can reach all the goodies inside. In Jiu Jitsu terms that means it opens up the space (AKA mount or back).
And I want to share with you all the secrets I’ve learned about the long step and do something AMAZING for charity this holiday season.
But before we get into all that, you might be wondering who I am and why you should listen to me…
Why should you learn from me?
My name is Tom Barlow, and I’m considered to be one of the best British-born Jiu Jitsu competitors ever. I’m a 3x No Gi World Champion, European Champion, ADCC Finalist, and Polaris veteran. You may have also heard my voice without realising it, as he’s one of the commentators for Polaris.
Due to my competition records, the success of my gym (who I run with my wife Chelsea Leah) and reputation as an excellent teacher, I’m highly sort after to teach seminars.
Along with teaching seminars around the U.K. and Europe, I regularly teach seminars at my Academy in Cambridge.
One of those seminars was on the long step. And it’s one of the best seminars I’ve ever taught, in my opinion.
During the seminar, I went deep into the correct positioning for the long step, 5 of the most common ways an opponent will react and how to deal with each one, and how to set up the long step.
Thankfully we recorded the seminar, and I want to share that with you now…
Introducing the Long Step Super Seminar…
The Long Step seminar is a 75+ minute HD recording of the seminar I taught as part of our super seminar series in December 2022.
Here’s a little of what you’ll discover during the seminar:
- The correct positing for the long step, so you don’t “bounce” off your partner’s frames and end up on the bottom.
- How to apply insane pressure from the intermediate position and force a reaction from your opponent.
- Four different long step grips you can use depend on your opponent’s guard.
- How to counter the five most reactions your opponent will have to the long step.
- The Pen and String drill that teaches you to avoid the most common long step mistake.
That’s the tip of the iceberg.
The seminar is recorded in our “on-the-mat” format, so you get all the techniques I taught PLUS all the extra details I share as I go around and correct the attendees. Here’s an example:
It’s as close to being part of the seminar as you can get without having attended.

So you’re probably thinking, “Sounds awesome, but what does the Long Step Seminar cost?” That’s a great question, but before we get into that, I want to tell you why I’m doing this…
I could sell this seminar for a decent chunk of change and pocket all the profits, but I don’t want to do that.
You see, I’m a big believer in giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate. That’s particularly important at this time of the year when so many people struggle.
As I have this platform and a following in the Jiu Jitsu world, I want to do some good this holiday season. So I’m going to donate the profits from this sale to charity, and my goal is to raise £10,000.
What’s the cost?
In the past, I’ve seen seminar recordings sell for anywhere from $25 all the way up to $297. If you wanted to attend the seminar in person, it would cost £45 (about $60).
But as I want as many people as possible to get this recording and donate to charity, the recording of the Long Step seminar is ONLY:
£10
