How I Grew The School Of My Dreams And How You Can Do The Same In Half The Time…
It wasn’t until about three years into my school-owning journey that I realised that just teaching great classes wasn’t enough to build a successful school.
Let me tell you, three years is a long time to grind away with little to show for it. It started to feel like I was on a hamster wheel of wake up, spend all the hours in the day working and teaching, get home late, then rinse and repeat.
We’ve all been there right?
At that pivotal moment, I knew I had two options if I wanted to break out of the grind and build the school of my dreams.
- I could figure it out myself through courses and events
- I have someone show me how to do it AKA a coach
While going to events and whatnot would cost a few grand, hiring someone would cost lots of grands. As my school was “cash-poor”, I chose option one.
The course and events were cool, and I learned a lot and grew my school a bit. But, I was still working way too many hours for too little reward and not where I wanted to be.
So, after some soul-searching and the last few thousand in my bank account, I hired a consultant.
The first meeting was a bit of a wake up call and mostly consisted of him wondering how we’d got to this point with such poor systems. But once we’d got over that little hurdle, the difference was night and day. He pinpointed the problems in my gym and gave me the solutions to fix them.
My school exploded and became one of the most successful in the south-west of England. We hit over 380 students, had a bunch of staff members sharing the work load, and I could finally start chasing my BJJ world championship dreams!
A cheat code for success...
Since then, I’ve consistently used mentors and experts to grow my business. They’re like a cheat code for success.
Take the most recent group I joined – it’s a high-end coaching group that charges $2000 per quarter.
You wouldn’t believe the level of the people in there. Think folks earning more money in a day than many people in a year, and you’ll be on the right track.
The advice is priceless.
The best part of the group...
At $2k a quarter, I’m damn sure I’m showing up there every week ready to work.
Investing that kind of money makes you committed. It forces you to implement what you’ve learned. It’s insanely powerful.
I make it my mission to use what they teach me, and wow – I’ve seen the difference. It lights a fire under me to get stuff done.
Chels is the same. She’s got a coach, too, and she gets so much out of it, and her projects are zooming along.
Accountability and taking action are two of the most critical factors in success.
When you combine that with expert advice from someone who has “been there and done it” you have a recipe for success.
Why am I telling you this?
It took me years and thousands of pounds to figure out what’s important and how to grow the school of your dreams.
I also know if I had regular accountability and access to the right systems, I’d have gotten there much faster and with more hair.
And I’d have been able to avoid a lot of the hurdles, pit falls, and running backs that cost me time, money, and headaches.
I Wish I’d Had This When I Started!

- Past the Bullpen call recordings (£1000+ value) so you can see what we’ve discussed in the past.
- Access to the WhatsApp group where you can ask me questions whenever you want (Priceless)
- And a bunch of other stuff...
That’s nearly £12,000 of stuff that’ll help you grow your school.
My goal is to add 25% to your bottom line while working 25% less of the time.
The Bullpen is what I wish I had when I built my first gym. You get it for a fraction of the price.
Some of the Bullpen members have had better results than that. For example…
- An instructor in Norfolk, U.K., doubled his school within the first two months of joining and more than doubled his monthly billing check.
- An academy owner in Connecticut, U.S.A., quadrupled the number of leads she had coming into her academy each month and fixed her enrolment problem.
- Another multi-location school owner in New York, U.S.A., systemised his school so he could take time off when his new daughter was born without the stress of worrying about his gym.
- An instructor just down the road from my academy increased his enrolment rate to over 80% with one small change and increased his average member value by 25%
These results (and more) come down to the three things we talked about earlier – getting the right advice, being held accountable, and doing the work.
So, back to my original question? Do you want to grow the school of your dreams? If the answer is YES and you’re prepared to do the work, then the Bullpen can help.
So how much does it cost?
At this point you’re probably wondering something like “All this sounds awesome, but how much does it cost?”
The Bullpen is easily worth £500 a month (and it will be in the future) and as I said I’ve invest thousands in groups like this before. However, right now you can join for…
(minimum 3 month membership)
That’s cheap enough that most instructors can benefit from the Bullpen but expensive enough that you’ll be committed.
Why A 3 Month Minimum? The Bullpen is not a get-rich-quick scheme – doing the work and implementing systems takes time.
For example, it took me two months to drop my cost per lead on Facebook ads from £10 to £2, and it took me six weeks to train a group of assistant instructors to take the load off our kid’s programme.
Running a gym is a marathon, not a sprint. However, three months is enough time for you to start seeing results.
Why am I doing this?
I want as many people as possible to benefit from training BJJ. That means they need access to well-run schools.
I have no desire to open a school in every city. But I can help school owners in every city provide an incredible experience to everyone who walks through their doors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who is this for? Any instructor looking to improve their school, claw back some time, increase their profits, and have some fun while doing it. As I said in a previous email, our goal is to help you add 25% to your bottom line while working 25% less of the time.
Q. What will the meetings be like? Think of it like a micro-consulting call that’s laser targeted on one issue for you. I’ll give you some advice, strategy, and resource to solve the issue. The idea is you then go and work on that issue then come back the following week and solve another issue, or dive deeper into the same issue.
Q. When will the meetings be held? They’ll be held on Wednesdays at 2.30 PM UK / 6:30 AM PST / 11:30 AEST on Zoom. The cool thing about the meetings like this is you don’t have to be on from the start, I’ll wait until you get on call before answering your questions. I might also be adding a second one at an earlier time for my southern hemisphere friends.
Q. What happens if I miss a call / can’t make it live? All the meetings will be recorded and made available shortly after. Secondly, if you have a question, but can’t make the meeting, I’ll still answer it live and send you all the resources. You can always follow up in the WhatsApp group if you need any clarification.
Q: Whats the difference between the Bullpen and an Instructor Membership? Great question. It’s basically the level of support and accountability. With the instructor membership you get the tools (curriculums, business resources, etc). With the Bullpen you get the tools, advice on which tool to start with and how to implement them, feedback once you’ve implemented them, and accountability to make sure you get it done.
Q. How much is the Bullpen? I wanted to make this easily affordable for any instructor, so the Bullpen is only £50 per week. (about $60) or £600 per quarter with minimum of three month commitment. This is because it commits your to taking action and will give you time to see results.
