This foot lock was made famous by Caio Terra (hence the name) and while it may not look particularly painful it puts a tonne of pressure on the ankle and knee.
In this video, you’ll discover how to set up the Caio Terra foot lock and how to combine it with a simple De La Riva attack.

Loved the babybolo/leg drag setup! Had not thought of that at all.
One small difference of detail in how Caio teaches the technique (at least in 2014). Caio finishes the footlock one-handed, using the other hand to grab the ankle of the leg you aren’t footlocking. He says if you don’t grab that ankle, your partner will stand up and turn and start to escape the footlock.
Nice detail. I find controlling the free leg essential in almost every leg lock.
